Contemporary brick house, located in Saket Nagar in Bhopal (M.P.). The plot location at the intersection of two roads informed the architect’s decision to divide it into two contrasting zones – one encased in concrete texture & the other in brick cladding. The site is a part of the residential area on a corner plot approached from the road on the east edge. The site is situated on southeast corner & in trapezoidal shape. The client brief called for an earthy, organic-looking house with a villa/ mansion-like aesthetic, that would create contemporary, comfortable living, rooted in Indian tradition.

The design developed from the client’s brief, which was a house of combination of the personal as well as rental use. Since, the plot is on corner, we designed separate entry for client & tenant maintaining privacy, from the east for client & from south for tenant.

Through Main Gate, there’s a wide parking space and a beautiful two step up verandah which guides to the house entry. Ground floor is comprised of an open living+kitchen+dining with a bar unit, a bedroom with attached dress & toilet. Ground floor is fully accommodated by the client. Beautifully designed internal staircase with double heighted area with chandelier gives a “wow factor” the space. Here, the user can connect with the upper as well as lower levels at the same moment. Separate dog leg staircase on the southside is planned for the tenant.

First floor opens up on a family lounge with a beautiful balcony with glazed sliding door, guided to master bedroom & son’s bedroom with front facing balcony & with attached dress and toilet, one room with attached toilet and pantry area for the rental with the separate access.

On the first floor, 1bhk is for the rental use with separate access. Internally designed staircase leading to the upper terrace with beautiful terrace garden covered by wooden pergolas. This modest east-facing plot welcomes the daylight and air to penetrate through the full-sized window to keep it naturally vivid and fresh throughout the day.

The clean lines of the house give a timeless feel and will not age at least for another generation. All in all, an ideal residence for an Indian nuclear family with enough private and public places to meet the family’s varied needs.Learn more about our building construction services in Bhopal.
